The Little black and the little white dress

Draped dresses are beautiful. And no, not for one season or two. A well draped dress will take you through any number of seasons without appearing like a *till stocks last* trend.
I decided to give this lovely LBD with this animal print drape across, a little make over with a black jacket. It needn't necessarily need dressing up since it does quite well on its own. But due to the rains it got a little nippy in the evening and I decided to put on my jacket to style up the dress.
Keeping the look very basic to let the outfit do the talking, I just dressed up with these coral stoned earrings in silver which are my favourites, currently. The shoes are these vintage pointys in teal gray which seemed ideal to complement this look.
Get this dress and many other lovely dresses and jumpsuits at Urban-Diva9, they now deliver worldwide. Stylish and affordable, definitely an online avenue most people who shop a lot and love good bargains should check out.
As for the title of the post? Take a look. :)
Lets start with a hazy, fluid picture that I loved the most. Thanks Mom.

A Little Birdy

Printed apparel is forever. This season or next, interesting prints will always get you through with ease. Easy to style, fun to accessorize, printed clothing is my cue for a fun effortless chic look. Golmaal stores sent across this lovely tunic dress for a review and at the risk of sounding cliche, it was love at first sight! From the color play on the little birdies (hints of turquoise, pink, purple, red) to the combination of the birdies and polka dots and not to forget the lovely tan colored belt it comes with, this tunic is my current favourite in terms of comfortable style. Wear it like a dress, spunk it up with some colored tights or do it my way by pairing it with colored skinnies, there are really lots of ways to play up this fun tunic. For other such interesting prints, colors, cuts and styles the Golmaal shop online is a must visit. I'm halfway through bookmarking other interesting things. :P Also, for more updates, follow them on Facebook.

Its always shiny at my end

I love dressing up for brunches. Maybe because our generation has touted brunch as the most fashionable meal of the day. And maybe because it really is a clear winner in terms of the timing in the day and the food that really comprises a brunch.
I had been contemplating wearing my sequined black tee over numerous occasions but somehow it just never materialized till about this brunch. If you thought sequins were for the night then you have probably come to the right place because I'm just about to dispel that styling myth for you. Sequins in the day is just as welcome as in the night, provided its worn right. I decided on these matte look sequins and paired it off with a bold carrot colored skirt. My idea of accessorizing this look was very straight. A gold, antique collar necklace. The antique gold against the black sequins was the contrast that I really wanted to try working. Kept it simple with the nude bag and peep toes to let the top and necklace really take centre stage.

Are you feeling the shine and bling?

Fab five- September

September's almost on its way out and this month has brought in a lot of changes for me. Switching cities made me think that with full time work, shooting blog posts might become a little cumbersome and infrequent. On the contrary, probably with the extra caution that I have been exercising not to let the blog rest for any week, I have successfully piled myself up with blog post backlog. Its a fulfilling feeling though, I must admit. It just means I have that much more to blabber to my readers and that much more to share in terms of style and other such things. :)
The fab 5 things that are keeping me kicking this month include a lot of beauty buys. I must admit I'm a make up junkie even though I do not end up using almost half the things I stock up on. It never hurts to hoard, does it? (Ok, it hurts the pocket but we'll save that discussion for another day)
So here goes:
Mac Sheertone Blush in Peaches
I had read rave reviews about this one but I also had a slight hesitation because I had read that it is a little too light for the Indian skin tone. I went for the kill and I have found the perfect use for this shade. Perfect day wear blush which lends just the slightest bit of peach to your cheeks. Definitely not something you can wear at night. Price: Rs. 1150/- (INR)

CH by Carolina Herrera
I'm definitely a fan of the CH house of fragrances. Having been a 212 VIP fan, I had been wanting to try CH, also because of its ultra luxe packaging. The fragrance is warm and woody and definitely my month's pick for a day wear fragrance. Price: Rs. 5000/- (more or less) for 100 ml.

My new rings
These two babies that I recently picked while street shopping in Delhi are my current favourite accessories. The rustic silver feel and the spiraling geometric shapes had me in a heartbeat. As fabulous as they look with a shirt and a pair of shorts, they also look as stunning with a lovely kurti and pajama! My work accessory favorites, this month. :) Price: Rs. 150/- (INR) for each.

L'oreal Paris lipstick in Always Apricot
L'oreal's new range of lipsticks is long lasting and highly pigmented. This shade won me over because its a lightish rustic red that is definitely a color most Indian skin tones can work. A nice shade to wear over a fine dinner, if you ask me. :) Shade No. 425. Price: Rs. 900/- (INR)

Its an honest attempt to bring in posts of all categories for all my different readers. So while I love sharing my outfits with you'll, make up, beauty products, accessories, travel, books, food make up as much of my interests as the former.
Tell me if you find the reviews useful and what are your favourite September picks.

Vogue Fashion Night Out Delhi

Vogue Fashion Night Out (VFNO), Delhi has been on my list of must-attend fashion events for a while now. I mean sure, the one at NYC, Sydney, Tokyo are all pretty great but this is close home and if anything, I love our Indian fashion scene. VFNO, 2012 saw a crazy ass turn out with people from all over turning up at Emporio, Vasant Kunj to commemorate the fashion extravaganza. The Vogue pop-up store called Vogue Loves had a queue that stretched up till half a kilometer with people waiting for their chance to enter! :) Speaks volumes about the love for fashion in the city, doesn't it?
For all those who dropped in for the celebrity spotting weren't disappointed either, from Karan Johar and Aaliya Bhatt to Shantanu and Nikhil, there was a celebrity for everyone.
VFNO was a fun fiesta for those of us who went to feed our fashion writer souls on the larger than life brands, the deals, the bubbly that flowed, the canapés and some shopping. We definitely need an excuse to live it up, FNO style. :)
Here are some pictures from the gala affair!
VFNO, manequins.

Christian Louboutin- Can't even begin to tell you how much I love these Indian inspired CLs.

Wine, cheese and crackers at DKNY

Alice+Olivia at Kitsch. The elegant embellishments always make my heart skip a beat.

Northern Lights- A sneak peek

Enchanting and a visual treat, these are the words I choose to describe Forever New's latest collection: Northern Lights. When I first heard about this phenomenon, I was intrigued enough to do an in-depth research into it. But I shall spare you a thesis and move on the important bits about the phenomenon and what Forever New tries to incorporate in its latest collection. Northern Lights or the aurora borealis as it is known is a beautiful display of lights across the moon lit skies associated with the Northern latitudes. When you think of Northern lights, you automatically think of the Arctic and the flash of beautiful lights in the snow capped regions! This magical collection, quite like its inspiration highlights fall textures and elements of dazzle. Fur coats, sequined jackets, prints inspired from the inky skies, calf skin bags and a lot of razz matazz in the form of thin belts, statement necklaces and intricate earrings. Don't miss the influence of the whites and the pale pinks obviously taking from the natural elements of the northern latitudes that we associate with the northern lights.
Some pieces you don't wanna miss from this collection:

And if you were living under a rock all this while, its time to resurface and shop Forever New online.
Tell me what you think.

The ice cream

I did just call the post, 'the ice cream'.
Mostly, because when I visualised this outfit in my head, the night before the Four seasons wine and cook out event, I was thinking black currant ice cream and orange sprinkles. Its vivid, but true. Don't believe me? Take a look.
The flowy silhouettes of the pleated top, make my heart skip a beat everytime I put it on. Not exaggerating, its the beauty in all things girly and flowy. I decided to pair it with my white pants with the zip detailing because it was the ultimate choice for a relaxed yet dressy occasion. Threw in pops of neon with my chunky orange necklace and coral booties and neon pink ring. Too much color? Wait till you see the golden sequined clutch ;)
I'm a lover of colors and so long they blend in beautifully, I will sport as many colors as I can. ;)
