The second show for the opening night at the Delhi Couture Week, 2012 was that of JJ Valaya. Would it be strange if I said I went in with a kitty full of crazy ass big expectations of grandeur and exquisiteness par excellence? But I really did. The theme of his haute couture collection was 'Azrak' and the highlights of his work included heavily paneled sherwanis, heavily embellished achkans, embroidery and motifs that stood for everything archaic. The highlight of the collection for me definitely was the minimal make up, the heavy jewelry look with the old-school loose hair buns at the nape of the neck. Not my favorite of all of JJ Valaya's works but definitely something the heavy Indian attire lovers will look forward to in the stores.
Here are some pictures from the show.

Spotted. Couldn't get enough of the shoes and the bindi. |

My favorite piece. The digital architectural print is the rage. |
What did you think? Also, excuse the obstructions in the pictures, I'm still a third row fashion blogger. :D
XOXO
