Summer Carnival

What is it about summers that makes me want to wade in a shallow pool, sip coolers on the portico and just soak in that certain summer fragrance in the air. That is just how I am. I romanticise summers on paper, think about it, smile to myself and then wham, the temperature shoots through the roof and I can't take it anymore. But before we reach that awful state of affairs in Delhi, lets loll around on the grass a little with the last batch of cool breezes and the sun shining at the same time. Besides if it ever came to it, I would pick summers over winters in a heartbeat.
I am an ardent lover of prints and when I chanced upon this cute bicycle print maxi dress at Global Desi, I knew I had to have it. Its the right amount of bohemian with just the most flattering neckline and slits at the bottom. Just to give a little more structure, I added a belt at the waist. Completed the look with embellished jutis( free bohemian spirit and all that) and a braid with a twist. Summer also calls for simple, clever accessorising for the day. Skipped my necklace, earrings routine for my 'L.O.V.E' midi rings and some arm candy. This is how it looked.

Four Seasons: Shiraz

I make no bones about my healthy love for wine. As much as I refrain from propagating any kind of alcohol on my blog (drinking is a personal choice and not one that I like to be responsible for influencing), red wine is an exception. In fact, it goes as far as saying that a little wine in the right quantities also has medicinal properties. While that might not be the reason that I talk about wine alone *clinks her wine glass*, I have a long time association with the Four Seasons Wines Division and I have never till date been disappointed. One of my favourite Indian wines, Four Seasons sent me a bottle of Shiraz this time around. The last review of the bottle of Merlot by Four Seasons can be accessed here. The Shiraz is a still red wine which is dry on the mouth. Not a wine connoisseur, I have definitely been experimenting a lot off late and The Shiraz is something that I am still acquiring a taste for. The fruity and spicy combination will definitely make it a hit as your Indian food accompaniment and I teamed up mine with some kebabs. I love the fact that Four Seasons is attempting (and succeeding quite a bit if I might add) to acclimatise the population of India to the culture and richness of wine. A thumbs up (maybe two) from me.

Find them on Facebook here and show them some love.

Lancôme DreamTone: A review

Lancôme India launched DreamTone in India in the most effective style ever. The first lot handpicked to try and test this product in India before it hit the markets were the bloggers. Yes, its empowering and scary at the same time how powerful we are as a force of media. The product was launched and gifted to us over a wonderful event hosted at the Delhi Lancôme boutique where the make up artist was gracious enough to teach us its application and use.
The DreamTone in India is priced at almost Rs.7000/- for the 40 ml bottle (INR). It is important to keep this in mind because eventually it does come down to an analysis of whether a product delivers in proportion to its MRP. The DreamTone is marketed as a skin tone corrector. In their defence, they make it amply clear that it is not a replacement for a BB or a CC cream.
How it fairs: This Dream Tone skin corrector comes in a highly attractive dark pink bottle with a pump at the top. Easy to use. Light pink liquid that smells heavenly. I am personally, a fan of great smelling products. The cream however is kind of thick. For oily skin tones, this one should be a miss. For combination or dry skin tones, skip the moisturising when you apply this product. Leaves enough oil and moisture on the skin. It produces a light nice glow while covering small imperfections of the skin.
However, this is where the problem arises, in case of bigger skin issues or even bigger marks or dark circles, this product has no effect. Not that I tried to replace this for a foundation or a base. But even on a regular day for some glow and coverage, I would choose a BB cream considering the price point of this product. For me, its a no as far as a purchase of this product goes.
I would reckon it would work well for no or almost negligible skin issues. I would give this one a miss.

I hope this helps. :)

Hint of winter glimmer

The last month has been a whirlwind of weddings and celebrations and a lot of work packed in all together. It did not leave me with a lot of time for blogging and I personally believe if you don't have something smart to write or do, its better to skip doing anything altogether. Hence the unintentional hiatus. Once of course there was something I felt I could substantially add to all written and visual content floating around on the internet, I decided to sit and down and take action.
My latest favourite online shopping destination has to be Eristona and when I was asked to review their stunning baubles, I couldn't wait to get started. With a crazy influx of websites coming up everyday selling jewellery, it has to be something a notch better to set a website apart. I personally feel like Eristona does a good job of that, considering the styles (self confessed necklace junkie)I have chanced upon here aren't really the kinds I have seen around. Set apart by the sheer versatility  of each piece and the adorable packaging (purple ribbons and personalised notes, you guys!), I am going to be hopping on here quite often. Have you picked your Eristona baubles yet?
Find them on Facebook and twitter and you will definitely thank me for the early bird discount vouchers they are sharing all across.
As for the rest of my look, you have got to see it and tell for yourself. :)
